Narrative Map
Narrative maps are visual representations of stories, aiming to computationally extract and analyze the spatial, temporal, and thematic relationships within narratives across various media (text, video, and even speech). Current research focuses on leveraging large language models and other AI techniques, such as generative models and knowledge graphs, to automatically construct these maps from diverse data sources, addressing challenges in data integration and semantic interpretation. This work holds significance for improving our understanding of narrative structure, facilitating sensemaking in complex data, and enabling innovative applications in digital storytelling, media analysis, and even military planning.
