Narrative text analysis is a burgeoning field focused on computationally understanding how stories are structured, interpreted, and generated. Current research emphasizes extracting causal relationships within narratives, modeling narrative evolution across different media and communities, and leveraging large language models (LLMs) for tasks such as narrative generation, theme identification, and character analysis. This work has significant implications for various fields, including social sciences, education, marketing, and even robotics, by providing tools for analyzing and generating narratives to better understand human behavior, improve communication, and create more engaging experiences.
