Nasal Vowel

Nasal vowels are a focus of ongoing research exploring their acoustic properties and their use in various applications. Current studies utilize diverse approaches, including topological data analysis of vowel spectrograms, information-theoretic measures of vowel harmony across languages, and machine learning models (like CNN-LSTM architectures) to analyze spectrotemporal variations in vowel production for applications such as speech recognition and even depression detection. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of speech production, improves the accuracy of speech processing technologies, and offers potential for novel diagnostic tools in healthcare.
