Natural Intelligence
Natural intelligence (NI) research seeks to understand the mechanisms underlying the superior learning, generalization, and adaptability of biological intelligence compared to artificial intelligence (AI). Current investigations focus on the role of social interaction, embodied cognition, and inherent brain structures (like network patterns) in enabling efficient learning from limited data. This research aims to bridge the gap between AI and NI, informing the design of more robust and efficient AI systems and offering insights into fundamental questions about cognition and consciousness. Applications range from improving AI algorithms for specific tasks to developing more effective tools for healthcare and public health in resource-constrained settings.
