Naturalistic Stimulus
Naturalistic stimuli research aims to understand how the brain processes complex, real-world inputs like images, speech, and videos, moving beyond simplified lab stimuli. Current investigations leverage advanced machine learning techniques, such as contrastive learning and convolutional neural networks, to analyze high-dimensional neural data (e.g., EEG, fMRI) and model the relationship between stimulus properties and brain activity across individuals. This work is crucial for advancing our understanding of brain function and has implications for applications such as driver monitoring and personalized human-computer interaction, improving the accuracy and efficiency of workload estimation and other real-time assessments.
