Near Eye Display
Near-eye displays (NEDs) aim to create immersive augmented and virtual reality experiences by projecting images directly onto the retina. Current research heavily focuses on overcoming challenges like image distortion, particularly in wide field-of-view systems, often employing neural networks to model and correct complex optical aberrations. Improving gaze tracking robustness, especially in the presence of head movement, and developing methods for integrated vision correction within the display itself are also key areas of investigation. These advancements are crucial for enhancing the comfort, usability, and accessibility of VR/AR technologies, particularly for users with visual impairments.
