Neural Head Avatar
Neural head avatars are realistic, animatable 3D models of human heads generated from video or image data, aiming to create highly expressive and photorealistic digital representations. Current research focuses on improving efficiency (real-time performance on mobile devices), expressiveness (capturing subtle facial movements), and controllability (allowing for precise manipulation of facial features and poses), often employing neural radiance fields (NeRFs), transformers, and generative adversarial networks (GANs) within various architectures. These advancements have significant implications for virtual and augmented reality applications, telepresence systems, and the broader fields of computer graphics and animation.
