Neural Motif
Neural motifs represent recurring sub-networks within larger neural architectures, analogous to functional building blocks in the brain. Current research focuses on leveraging these motifs to improve the design and efficiency of spiking neural networks (SNNs), often using evolutionary algorithms or unsupervised learning methods to discover and optimize their connectivity and function for tasks like multi-sensory integration and scene graph generation. This work aims to create more biologically plausible and energy-efficient artificial neural networks, potentially leading to advancements in artificial intelligence and a deeper understanding of brain function.
