Neural Reflectance Field

Neural Reflectance Fields (NeRFs) aim to represent 3D scenes by disentangling geometry and material properties, enabling realistic rendering and manipulation. Current research focuses on improving NeRF decomposition techniques, often employing vector quantization to discretize materials for easier editing and segmentation, and integrating additional information like shading, shadows, or even projected light patterns to enhance scene understanding and reconstruction from limited views. These advancements are significant for applications such as augmented reality, projection mapping, and underwater image correction, offering improved realism and control over virtual and real-world scenes.
