Nighttime Light
Nighttime light (NTL) remote sensing offers a unique perspective on various aspects of human activity and environmental change, primarily focusing on urban development, infrastructure monitoring, and socioeconomic indicators. Current research emphasizes improving the resolution and accuracy of NTL data through advanced image processing techniques, including machine learning models like neural networks designed for multi-modal data fusion and super-resolution, to overcome limitations of existing satellite imagery. These advancements enable more precise tracking of urban growth, disaster impacts, and electricity access, contributing significantly to sustainable development goals and improved crisis response capabilities.
