Non Social Guilt

Non-social guilt, distinct from guilt arising from interpersonal interactions, is an emerging area of research exploring the internal experience of remorse independent of social consequences. Current investigations utilize natural language processing techniques, including machine learning and transformer-based models, to detect and analyze expressions of non-social guilt in text data. This research aims to better understand the cognitive and emotional mechanisms underlying this form of guilt, potentially informing the development of more sophisticated artificial intelligence systems capable of self-evaluation and ethical decision-making. Furthermore, understanding non-social guilt could contribute to improved models of human behavior and well-being.
