Objective Metric
Objective metrics are quantitative measures designed to assess the quality or performance of systems or processes, avoiding subjective human judgment. Current research focuses on developing and refining these metrics across diverse applications, including audio quality assessment (using co-trained full- and no-reference models), image stylization (leveraging sparse representation), and procedural content generation in video games (employing agent-based simulations). The development of robust and reliable objective metrics is crucial for enabling fair comparisons of different algorithms and systems, facilitating progress in various scientific fields and improving the quality of practical applications.
