Ocean Dynamic
Ocean dynamics research focuses on understanding and predicting the complex movements and interactions within the ocean, crucial for climate modeling, environmental monitoring, and maritime applications. Current research heavily utilizes machine learning, employing deep learning architectures like Vision Transformers, Generative Diffusion Models, and Fourier Neural Operators, alongside traditional numerical models, to improve forecasting accuracy and resolution, particularly at submesoscale levels. These advancements enhance our ability to predict sea surface currents, reconstruct satellite altimetry data, and model global ocean circulation, ultimately improving our understanding of ocean processes and their impact on climate and ecosystems.
