Online Community
Online communities are dynamic social networks characterized by diverse interaction patterns and evolving norms, with research focusing on understanding their structure, dynamics, and impact on individuals and society. Current studies employ various machine learning models, including large language models (LLMs) and graph neural networks, to analyze communication styles, detect harmful behaviors like trolling and hate speech, and predict community outcomes such as success in collaborative campaigns. This research is crucial for developing effective moderation strategies, mitigating online harms, and gaining insights into social influence and collective behavior in digital spaces.
