Open Set Text Recognition

Open-set text recognition tackles the challenge of accurately identifying both known and unknown characters in images, a crucial step beyond traditional text recognition systems. Current research focuses on addressing the limitations of existing methods by decoupling contextual and visual character information, leveraging multi-orientation text handling, and employing techniques like label-to-prototype learning to generalize to unseen characters.
