OpenStreetMap Data
OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, a collaboratively-edited, open-source map of the world, is increasingly used in diverse applications, driving research into efficient data processing and access. Current research focuses on improving OSM usability through natural language interfaces and transforming its structure into more computationally tractable formats like knowledge graphs and hierarchical area graphs, often leveraging transformer-based neural networks for tasks such as change detection and vandalism detection. These advancements enhance the accessibility and analytical capabilities of OSM, impacting fields ranging from autonomous driving and urban planning to investigative journalism and mobile robotics.
