Opioid Use
Opioid use disorder (OUD) research focuses on understanding its complex etiology, improving treatment efficacy, and mitigating its devastating consequences. Current research employs diverse methods, including machine learning models (e.g., neural networks, graph neural networks) analyzing social media data, electronic health records, and even genetic and behavioral data to identify risk factors, predict treatment response, and personalize interventions. These efforts aim to improve OUD risk assessment, treatment strategies, and ultimately reduce the substantial public health burden associated with opioid misuse and addiction.
