Optical Microscopy
Optical microscopy continues to advance, driven by the need for higher resolution, faster imaging, and reduced phototoxicity, particularly in live-cell studies. Current research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence, specifically deep learning architectures like encoder-decoder networks and multi-attention channel networks, to automate image analysis, improve image reconstruction (e.g., through deconvolution and compressive sensing), and even predict fluorescence images from label-free data. These improvements enable more efficient and insightful biological studies, ranging from identifying metastasizing cells to understanding dynamic cellular processes, ultimately impacting diverse fields from biomedical research to diagnostics.
