Oxide GLASS
Oxide glass research focuses on understanding and manipulating the properties of these materials for diverse applications. Current efforts concentrate on improving the accuracy of glass segmentation and detection in images and LiDAR scans using advanced neural network architectures, including those incorporating attention mechanisms and polarization information, to overcome challenges posed by reflections and transparency. These advancements are crucial for improving robotic navigation, 3D reconstruction, and industrial processes, as well as for accelerating the design and optimization of new glass compositions through physics-informed machine learning. The development of more accurate predictive models for glass properties, particularly glass-forming ability, remains a significant goal.
