Pallet block image analysis focuses on accurately determining the position and orientation (pose) of pallets in various settings, primarily to automate material handling in logistics. Current research employs computer vision techniques, including 360-degree cameras and deep learning models like Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Deep Object Pose Estimation (DOPE), often leveraging synthetic data to overcome the limitations of real-world dataset acquisition. These advancements improve the efficiency and accuracy of automated systems in warehouses and distribution centers, leading to significant cost savings and increased productivity.
