Parametric Primitive
Parametric primitives, simple geometric shapes like cubes and cylinders, are increasingly used to represent complex objects in computer vision and computer-aided design (CAD). Current research focuses on developing efficient algorithms, often employing neural networks, to automatically infer and manipulate these primitives from various data sources, including sketches and point clouds. This work aims to improve the accuracy and efficiency of tasks such as 3D scene reconstruction, CAD model creation, and object segmentation, ultimately leading to advancements in fields like robotics, computer graphics, and product design. The ability to decompose complex shapes into manageable primitives offers significant advantages in terms of data representation, manipulation, and analysis.
