Parkinsonian Speech
Parkinsonian speech research focuses on identifying and characterizing the distinctive acoustic features of speech in individuals with Parkinson's Disease (PD) to improve diagnosis and monitor disease progression. Current research utilizes acoustic analysis of speech parameters like fundamental frequency and phonetic features, often employing machine learning techniques to identify patterns indicative of PD, even without training on pathological speech data. These efforts aim to develop objective, reliable speech-based biomarkers for PD, potentially leading to earlier diagnosis and more effective personalized treatment strategies.
