Path Following
Path following, the ability of a system to track a predefined trajectory, is a core problem in robotics and control systems, aiming to achieve accurate and efficient movement along a desired path while maintaining stability. Current research emphasizes diverse approaches, including nonlinear guidance laws, reinforcement learning for adaptive control, and model predictive control (MPC) for precise trajectory tracking across various platforms (e.g., UAVs, ground vehicles, robots). These advancements are crucial for improving autonomy in diverse applications, ranging from autonomous navigation in complex environments to human-robot collaboration and enhanced control of vehicles in challenging conditions.
