Path Metric
Path metrics quantify the distance between functions implemented by neural networks, focusing on the relationships between network parameters and their output. Current research emphasizes the application of path metrics to improve understanding of network behavior in various architectures, including ResNets and graph neural networks (GNNs), particularly within the contexts of pruning, quantization, and uncertainty estimation. This work aims to develop more robust and informative evaluation metrics beyond traditional node-wise assessments, leading to improved model generalization and more reliable uncertainty quantification in machine learning applications.
