Patient Centric

Patient-centric healthcare aims to prioritize individual patient needs and experiences throughout the care process. Current research focuses on leveraging AI, particularly natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs), to analyze patient communications (e.g., social media posts, clinical conversations) for insights into experiences, biases, and unmet needs, often employing techniques like retrieval-augmented generation and explainable AI (XAI) for improved transparency and interpretability. This work holds significant potential to improve healthcare quality and equity by enabling more personalized, effective, and accessible care, as well as informing the design of more user-friendly healthcare interfaces and educational materials.
