Pavement Challenge

Pavement challenge research focuses on improving the efficiency and accuracy of pavement condition assessment and maintenance strategies. Current efforts involve developing and applying machine learning models, such as Support Vector Machines and Extreme Learning Machines, to analyze data from various sources including Ground Penetrating Radar and LiDAR, to predict pavement degradation (e.g., rutting) and optimize maintenance scheduling. These advancements aim to enhance road safety and reduce infrastructure costs by enabling more proactive and data-driven pavement management.
