Pedestrian Path Network
Pedestrian path network research focuses on accurately mapping and modeling pedestrian pathways in urban environments for applications like navigation and urban planning. Current efforts concentrate on developing robust algorithms and datasets to automatically extract these networks from imagery, often employing deep learning models for image segmentation and graph construction, and incorporating concepts of routability and connectivity to improve the accuracy and utility of the resulting maps. This work is crucial for improving urban mobility, informing transportation decisions, and enhancing the capabilities of autonomous systems that interact with pedestrians.
