Personal Narrative
Personal narratives, the accounts of individual experiences, are a focus of growing interdisciplinary research, aiming to understand how these narratives reflect identity, mental health, and social interactions. Current research leverages machine learning, particularly deep learning models and large language models (LLMs), to analyze narrative structure, emotional content, and empathic resonance within personal stories, often using multimodal data (text, audio, video). This work has implications for improving mental health detection, fostering empathy in AI systems, and enhancing our understanding of human communication and social dynamics.
