Photo Response Non Uniformity
Photo Response Non-Uniformity (PRNU) analysis aims to identify the source camera of a digital image by exploiting unique sensor imperfections that leave a characteristic noise pattern. Current research focuses on improving PRNU extraction techniques, particularly through the application of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to enhance robustness against noise and image processing, and exploring alternative, more resilient device fingerprints beyond PRNU. These advancements are crucial for improving the accuracy and reliability of forensic image analysis, with implications for law enforcement, digital rights management, and other applications requiring robust image source identification.
