Research on pig bodies focuses on improving animal welfare and optimizing agricultural practices through advanced monitoring techniques. Current efforts utilize deep learning, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs) like InceptionResNetV2 and YOLO, to analyze images and videos for automated detection of health issues (e.g., skin lesions, caudophagy) and individual pig tracking within large enclosures using multiple cameras. These advancements enable real-time monitoring of animal health and behavior, improving efficiency and potentially reducing labor costs in intensive farming. The development of large, annotated datasets is crucial for training and validating these sophisticated algorithms.
