Planning Heuristic
Planning heuristics are methods used to guide search algorithms towards efficient solutions in complex planning problems, aiming to reduce computational cost and find optimal or near-optimal action sequences. Current research focuses on integrating large language models (LLMs) with classical planning techniques to leverage commonsense reasoning and learn action semantics from environmental feedback, as well as developing novel hierarchical planners and optimizing heuristic functions for improved performance in diverse domains, including object manipulation and large-scale navigation. These advancements are significant for improving the efficiency and robustness of AI planning systems across various applications, from robotics and automated task management to game playing and resource allocation.
