Pneumatic Actuator
Pneumatic actuators are flexible, compliant devices powered by compressed air, offering advantages in robotics and other applications requiring safe interaction with humans or delicate objects. Current research emphasizes improving control precision through advanced algorithms like adaptive control and data-driven parameter estimation to address challenges posed by hysteresis and nonlinear behavior, alongside exploring novel designs such as multimodal actuators and those incorporating shape-locking mechanisms. This work is significant for advancing soft robotics, enabling more dexterous and adaptable robots for diverse applications ranging from medical devices to assistive technologies and industrial manipulation.
