Current studies explore politeness in various contexts, including human-robot interaction, online discussions, and cross-lingual translation, often employing machine learning models like Support Vector Machines (SVMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyze and generate polite language. Findings highlight the importance of politeness for effective communication, revealing that politeness levels significantly impact user experience and model performance, and suggesting that cultural context plays a crucial role in interpreting and generating polite expressions.
