Polyculture Garden
Polyculture gardening, the cultivation of multiple plant species in a single space, is increasingly being automated to optimize resource use and yield. Current research focuses on developing robotic systems incorporating computer vision (e.g., RGB-D cameras, convolutional neural networks) and machine learning algorithms for tasks such as plant phenotyping, precise irrigation, autonomous pruning, and pollination. These advancements aim to improve efficiency and consistency in polyculture farming, potentially leading to more sustainable and productive agricultural practices. The development of sophisticated simulation environments further enhances the design and testing of these automated systems.
