Power Allocation

Power allocation, the optimization of transmit power across multiple users or devices in a network, aims to maximize network performance metrics like throughput, energy efficiency, or minimize age of information while adhering to constraints such as power budgets and interference levels. Current research heavily utilizes machine learning, particularly deep reinforcement learning (DRL) and graph neural networks (GNNs), to address the complex, often non-convex optimization problems inherent in various network architectures (e.g., Open RAN, vehicular networks, heterogeneous networks). These advancements are significant because they enable efficient and adaptive resource management in dynamic and unpredictable environments, improving the performance and sustainability of wireless communication systems.
