Power Doppler Ultrasound
Power Doppler ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that visualizes blood flow by detecting the Doppler shift of ultrasound waves, providing information about blood velocity and perfusion. Current research focuses on automating analysis of Power Doppler images, employing deep learning models like modified Faster R-CNN and other fusion strategies combining B-mode and Power Doppler data for improved segmentation and feature extraction. These advancements aim to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in various applications, such as fetal monitoring (assessing placental health and umbilical artery blood flow) and fitness tracking (analyzing exercise movements), ultimately reducing reliance on expert interpretation and improving patient care. Furthermore, research is exploring improved point cloud registration algorithms, incorporating Doppler velocity information to enhance accuracy in challenging environments.
