Power Line
Power lines are critical infrastructure requiring constant monitoring and maintenance for reliable electricity delivery. Current research focuses on automating inspection using drones and advanced image processing techniques, employing deep learning models like YOLOv5, Transformers, and convolutional neural networks for tasks such as object detection, segmentation, and anomaly detection in aerial imagery and LiDAR point clouds. These advancements aim to improve safety, efficiency, and the resilience of power grids by enabling faster, more accurate fault detection and preventative maintenance, reducing the risk of cascading failures and power outages. Furthermore, research addresses cybersecurity threats to power line protection systems and develops methods for autonomous drone recharging to extend operational capabilities.
