Precision Recall Curve

Precision-recall curves (PR curves) graphically represent the trade-off between a classifier's precision (the proportion of correctly predicted positives) and recall (the proportion of actual positives correctly identified). Current research focuses on improving PR curve analysis, particularly in addressing class imbalance and evaluating model performance across diverse datasets and time periods, often employing techniques like Kalman filtering for temporal comparisons. The area under the PR curve (AUPRC) is a key metric, but its relationship to other metrics like AUROC is being rigorously examined to clarify optimal choices for different applications, including anomaly detection and generative model assessment.
