Proactive Interaction
Proactive interaction in human-computer interaction (HCI) focuses on designing systems that anticipate user needs and initiate actions rather than simply reacting to explicit requests. Current research emphasizes developing AI agents, particularly those leveraging large language models (LLMs), capable of planning and executing proactive dialogues through techniques like dual-process frameworks, reinforcement learning, and retrieval-augmented generation. These advancements aim to improve user experience in diverse applications, from customer service automation and tutoring systems to autonomous driving in complex environments, by enhancing efficiency, safety, and user satisfaction.
