Prompt Evolution

Prompt evolution is a rapidly developing field focused on optimizing prompts—the textual instructions given to AI models—to improve the quality and relevance of generated outputs. Research currently explores various optimization algorithms, including evolutionary strategies and gradient-based methods, often coupled with vision-language models or large language models to guide the prompt refinement process. This work aims to enhance the performance of generative AI across diverse applications, such as text-to-image synthesis, automatic speech recognition error correction, and engineering design optimization, by making these models more responsive to user intent and less sensitive to prompt phrasing. The ultimate goal is to create more user-friendly and effective interfaces for interacting with powerful AI systems.
