Proof of Work

Proof-of-Work (PoW) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain systems and cybersecurity, requiring computational effort to validate transactions or access resources. Current research focuses on improving PoW's efficiency and applicability by exploring alternatives like Proof-of-Learning (PoL), which leverages machine learning model training as the computational task, and incorporating AI to adaptively adjust puzzle difficulty based on contextual factors like IP address and request patterns. These advancements aim to reduce PoW's energy consumption while maintaining security, leading to more sustainable and efficient blockchain technologies and improved cybersecurity defenses against attacks like DDoS.
