Propaganda Technique
Propaganda technique research aims to automatically identify and classify manipulative communication strategies in text and multimedia content, focusing on detecting specific techniques and their contextual manifestations. Current research heavily utilizes large language models (LLMs) like GPT-3 and GPT-4, often fine-tuned on datasets annotated with various propaganda techniques, alongside other architectures such as RoBERTa and XGBoost, to improve detection accuracy and interpretability. This field is crucial for mitigating the spread of misinformation and disinformation online, with applications ranging from improving social media content moderation to enhancing media literacy and critical thinking skills.
