Prosocial Behavior
Prosocial behavior, the tendency to act in ways that benefit others, is a key area of research across multiple scientific disciplines, aiming to understand its emergence and how to enhance it. Current research focuses on identifying effective mechanisms to promote prosociality, including the design of feedback systems, the development of reinforcement learning algorithms that encourage reciprocal interactions, and the exploration of how social norms and observational learning shape behavior, particularly in human-robot and human-human interactions. These findings have significant implications for improving social welfare, designing more ethical AI systems, and fostering cooperation in various contexts, from urban mobility to online interactions.
