Prosthetic Joint Infection

Prosthetic joint infection (PJI) is a serious complication following joint replacement surgery, posing significant diagnostic challenges due to its subtle presentation. Current research focuses on developing accurate and efficient diagnostic tools using multimodal data, such as X-ray or CT images and patient lab results, leveraging deep learning architectures like convolutional neural networks and transformers to integrate these diverse data types. These advanced methods aim to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, ultimately leading to earlier intervention and better patient outcomes. The development of robust and interpretable AI-driven diagnostic tools holds significant promise for improving the management of PJI.
