Psychological Counseling
Psychological counseling is increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence, particularly large language models (LLMs), to address the global shortage of mental health professionals and improve accessibility. Current research focuses on developing AI systems that can detect suicidal ideation, engage in empathetic and effective dialogue simulations using techniques like layered prompting and role-playing, and provide automated evaluation of counseling sessions. These advancements aim to enhance the quality, scalability, and reach of mental health support, offering both immediate practical applications and valuable insights for the scientific understanding of therapeutic interventions.
