Psychological Experiment
Current research explores using large language models (LLMs), like GPT-4, as participants in psychological experiments, aiming to understand both LLM capabilities and human cognition. Studies focus on replicating classic psychological experiments across diverse domains, including cognitive tasks, social interactions, and visual perception, using LLMs to simulate human behavior and analyze their responses. This approach offers a powerful tool for large-scale replication and hypothesis testing in psychology, while also revealing both the strengths and limitations of current LLMs in emulating human-like reasoning and decision-making. The findings highlight the potential of LLMs to complement, but not yet replace, human subjects in psychological research.
