pyroCb Forecast Model
PyroCb forecast models aim to predict the formation of pyrocumulonimbus clouds, severe thunderstorms generated by large wildfires, which pose significant risks to wildfire spread and atmospheric conditions. Current research focuses on developing machine learning pipelines, employing algorithms like Random Forests and Convolutional Neural Networks, to analyze diverse datasets including satellite imagery and environmental data for accurate prediction. These models are crucial for improving wildfire management strategies and understanding the impact of wildfires on climate change by providing advanced warning of these dangerous events. The development of robust and accessible software frameworks further supports this research.
