Quality Inspection

Quality inspection, aiming to automate the detection of defects in manufactured products and infrastructure, is undergoing a rapid transformation driven by advancements in artificial intelligence and computer vision. Current research emphasizes cost-effective solutions using unsupervised and self-supervised learning, often leveraging pre-trained models and lightweight architectures like YOLO and student-teacher networks, to reduce reliance on extensive labeled datasets. This work is significantly impacting various industries, from manufacturing (PCB, textiles, electronics) to infrastructure monitoring (sewer systems, cultural monuments), by improving efficiency, accuracy, and reducing labor costs associated with traditional manual inspection methods.
