Radicalization Pathway
Research on radicalization pathways focuses on understanding and mitigating the online spread of extremist ideologies, aiming to identify individuals susceptible to radicalization and disrupt the processes leading to violence. Current efforts utilize machine learning models, such as BERT and GPT, to analyze online text and identify extremist content, along with graph-based approaches to map and disrupt recommendation systems that may reinforce radicalization. This research is crucial for improving online safety and informing the development of effective counter-terrorism strategies, with implications for law enforcement, social media platforms, and public policy.
