Radio Galaxy
Radio galaxies are active galaxies emitting powerful radio waves, and research focuses on automatically classifying their diverse morphologies and identifying their infrared host galaxies from large survey datasets. Current efforts leverage machine learning, particularly deep learning models like convolutional neural networks (CNNs), including group equivariant CNNs and multimodal approaches that integrate radio and infrared data, to improve automated detection and classification accuracy. These advancements are crucial for efficiently analyzing the massive datasets from next-generation radio telescopes, enabling faster discovery and improved understanding of galaxy evolution and the physics of active galactic nuclei.
